The Victorian Furnishing Industry Training Board Inc.
Your Independent Authority on Training

The Board of the Victorian Furnishing Industry Training Board (VFITB) wishes to advise that the VFITB has been forced to substantially reduce secretariat capacity.

This has occurred as a result of the Victorian State Government through the Victorian Learning and Employment Skills Commission (VLESC) withdrawing funding support to the VFITB. The VFITB Board is very disappointed at the VLESC decision to withdraw funding.

The VFITB maintains representation of all sectors of the furnishing industry through its Board membership nominated by the Furnishing Industry Association of Australia (Vic/Tas) Inc., Cabinet Makers Association, Picture Framers Guild, Glass & Glazing Association of Victoria, Soft Furnishing Industry Association, Australian Industry Group and the Flooring Association of Victoria.

Due to the withdrawal of funding, the VFITB Board is no longer in a position to provide the same level of service, assistance and advice to the industry and many of its traditional activities have been suspended.

If you have any industry training, skill development, labour and skill shortages issues that require attention, the Board of the VFITB suggests you contact your industry association or the Office of Training and Tertiary Education directly.

The Board of the VFITB will continue to operate within its extremely limited capacity and will notify you through this web site should circumstances alter.
